Hero Dash Readying for June Launch, Production Started

The Hero Motocorp has started manufacturing its upcoming 110cc scooter, which is titled as Hero Dash. The firm has showcased its all new competitor against the Honda Activa at the Delhi Auto Expo, 2014, which was held in the month of February. The Hero Dash has finally entered the production stage. The firm has started manufacturing the 110cc scooter at its Gurgaon located plant. The scooter segment competition in the Indian two-wheeler market is heating-up each passing day, and every other manufacturer is busy in introducing a new product competing with the existing one.

Hero-Dash-Front-View

The Hero Dash scooter is powered by a four-stroke, single-cylinder motor carrying an engine displacement of 111cc. The air-cooled engine is mated to a CVT transmission and is tuned to generate a maximum power of 8.5 BHP @ 7500 revs and 155 Nm of peak torque @ 5750 RPM. The automatic scooter carries a fuel tank capacity of 6 liters and it weighs around 110 kgs. The suspension duties have been taken care by telescopic front forks and monoshock at the rear. The additional components comprise within the Hero Dash are USB mobile charger, service due indicator, LED tail-light, side-stand indicator and key with e-code differentiating it with the similar segment scooters.

According to the sources, "As per the extended royalty agreement with Honda, Hero will pay royalty to Honda till June 2017 or as long as they continue to manufacture the Passion XPro, Maestro and Ignitor, whichever is earlier. Hero will obviously look at phasing out the production of Maestro scooter model in the near future. However, they will wait for the Dash model to gain some traction in the market. Secondly, the presence of Maestro, a known name now, will continue to benefit them in terms of sales every month."

The alloy wheels and tubeless tyres are perfectly incorporated with metallic body of the scooter. The front apron and rear portion are appropriately decorated by the designers. They have provided an under seat storage lamp and the added a digital instrument cluster. The Hero Dash scooter is expected to carry a price tag of Rs 55,000, which again competing the Honda Activa.
