Hero MotoCorp's Sales Soared 3% in Q1: Thanks to Glamour and Super Splendor

In Spite of being very close to the rivals like Bajaj, Yamaha and Mahindra, sales figures of Hero MotoCorp have been soared up by 3% in the first quarter of this year. By looking at the sales figures, the automaker has garnered a gross turnover of INR 8010.66 Crores during this period in which the maximum profit after tax (PAT) was INR 883.10 Crores, whereas the same period last year has accounted for an aggregate sales of INR 7435 and secured a profit of INR 747.54 Crores after paying the tax.

According to the reports, Hero MotoCorp’s strong sales were attributable to decent sales contribution of 125cc motorcycle segment, which includes Glamour and Super Splendor, accounting for 50% of market share. The result shows that the former has witnessed 32% of hike in its sales number, while the latter comes with 29% of burgeoned sales over the last Q1 2015. When it comes to the overall no of sales, the company’s dispatched units stood at 17,45,389, as against 16,45,867 units in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

For the great success, Mr Pawan Munjal, Managing Director and CEO, Hero MotoCorp conveyed, “The first quarter of this fiscal carried forward the growth trajectory that we set for ourselves in the previous Quarter. The sales growth is reflected in the positive financial results for the Quarter, and has given us the momentum to carry forward as we prepare for the upcoming festive season. With the above-average monsoon so far and the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission recommendations, we remain cautiously optimistic about the remaining months of FY’17.”
