Hero Splendor 25th Anniversary Edition Launched, Priced at INR 57K

Hero Splendor, the most selling motorcycle not only in India but across the world, has completed 25 years since its introduction. In lieu of celebrating the 25th anniversary of its classical motorcycle, Hero MotoCorp has launched a special edition with cosmetic updates. The company is asking for a price tag of INR 56,600, ex-sh. For this 25 years special edition of Hero Splendor.

The Special Edition Splendor is derived from the Hero Splendour Plus variant, which costs INR 51,290, ex-sh for the drum brake-kick start variant. While the self-start variant with brand patented i3S technology set you back at INR 54,600. Comparatively, the Splendor Special Edition is priced around INR 2k more over the standard Splendor model.

For such premium, the buyer will be benefited with a distinct colour option- Black with Orange/Golden decals in the front of the motorcycle and on the sides as well. Powertrain under the fuel tank is the similar 97cc single cylinder unit performing powering duties on the Splendor Plus. The engine is rated to develop 8.36 PS of power along with 8.05Nm of peak torque in association with a four-speed gearbox transmission. This 25 years special edition model is being offered only in a single trim with drum brakes. It rides on 18-inch alloys shod up with 80/100 tubeless tyres.

Among others, the motorcycle is furnished with attributes like halogen headlamp with AHO, telescopic front suspension, adjustable rear shocks, integrated braking system, etc. Dimensionally, it measures 2000mm in length, 720mm in width, 1040mm in height along with the wheelbase of 1230mm. The ground clearance for the Splendor Special Edition stands at 159mm while it comes with the fuel tank capacity of 10.5 litres. It weighs 109 kgs kerb weight and can take max payload of 130kgs.

Lately, the automaker has updated its scooter and motorcycle lineup in India with the mandatory safety feature of Integrated Braking System (IBS). The IBS technology offers a better command over the bike without any risk of wheel locking while panic braking. It works simultaneously and distributes force to the front wheel as well with the press of rear brake pedal. The IBS Safety feature ensures the safety of rider and pillion keeping the motorcycle in full control. The i3S, on the other hand, shuts the engine down while idling in traffic and a simple press of clutch brings the engine back to life.
