Honda BR-V Launched at the Starting Price of INR 8.75 Lakhs

In order to take on the likes of Hyundai Creta, and Renault Duster, an all-new 7 seater Honda BR-V has been launched at an event in Delhi. Designed at company's Tapukara plant in Rajasthan, the car comes at the starting price of INR 8.75 Lakhs that goes up to INR 12.90 Lakhs for top end variant (both ex-showroom, Delhi). Moreover, it is available in six different color options namely, Carnelian Red Pearl, Alabaster Silver Metallic, Urban Titanium Metallic, Taffeta White, White Orchid Pearl, and Brown Metallic. Furthermore, it comes in four trims that is coded in alphabet term– E, S, V and VX.

It was first showcased at the 2015 Indonesia Motor Show and was also exhibited at the India's biggest motor event, Auto Expo, 2016. It is basically designed to replace the Honda Mobilio, which was the first MUV from the company.

In terms of dimensions, it measures 4,465 mm in length, 1,735 mm in width, 1,666 mm in height, and 2,662 mm in wheelbase, which is 10 mm longer in comparison to the Mobilio. In addition, the vehicle also has a ground clearance of 210 mm.

At exterior, the car gets a large chrome slat grille, large bumper, wheel arches featured with plastic body cladding and black projector headlamps. Besides the comfort legroom, the vehicle also has a great boot space of 223 litre that can be extended up to 691 litre by folding up the third row seats.

Some of the standard features that are loaded on the all variants are listed as dual front airbags, digital AC control, front and rear power windows, projector headlights, LED light guide, adjustable headrests, etc. Other regular attachments such as ABS (anti-locking braking system) and EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution) are also offered. 2nd row comes as a 60:40 split seats with recline option and the 3rd row have 50:50 split seats with recline scheme.

Honda BRV Launched at Starting Price INR 8.79 Lakhs

Mechanically, the Honda BR-V gets two engine options – 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel. Talking first about the petrol unit, it generates 118 Bhp of power at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm of torque at 4,600 rpm. To send the power at wheels, the motor is mated with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed CVT automatic gearbox.

The diesel engine is good for 98.6 Bhp of power at 3,600 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. Also, mill is mated with only a 6-speed manual transmission. Talking about the mileage, the former is capable to return 15.4 kmpl for manual and 16.4 kmpl for automatic, while the later stands for the great fuel efficiency of 21.9 kmpl.
