After launching the Civic R Type at the recently concluded Paris Motor Show 2014, Honda has again teased this car with very little information, but very impressive demonstration of how this Civic R type is different from the regular Civic hatchback. The Honda has named it as “The Other Side” and “ The Double Story” campaign. And providing the little information on the video, it's a 2-in-1 film showing both the sides of the Civic hatchback car.
With this so-called other side hatchback variant of the Civic R Type, Honda has ambitions of making it the fastest front-wheel drive production car of the world, tested and verified at the famous Nurburgring F1 track in Germany. However, the company has denied to comment over the power of the 2.0 Litre i-VTEC engine getting used in the car, but has just said that the total power will be exceeding the 275 hp mark for sure with the torque somewhere to be around 400 Nm.
Although, the market is anticipating the power to exceed by the 300 hp mark, if the company has to make this the fastest front wheel drive car of the world. It would also have to be assisted by the turbocharger with 6-speed manual transmission system which could take it to the 100 km/h in just above 5 seconds. There also would be a +R button will be fitted for enhancing the engine performance and its specifications.
