Honda Filed Adventure Tourer XRE 300 Patent in India, Launch Anytime Soon in 2017

After getting freed from BS-IV compliant engine updation of almost all its products in lineup, Honda is now looking forward to strengthen its position in the premium motorcycle segment. A few days ago, Honda confirmed to add four new products in Indian lineup this financial year 2017-18. They will consist two motorcycles as well as two scooters with unique branding in new arrival. In coming times, it will be interesting to see that what will be these four as there are several products from Honda, which are rumored to be the part of Indian product portfolio this fiscal.

If considers upcoming motorcycles, there are a number of choices that are making noise in the Indian biking industry. The first one in concern is the top end variant of much-awaited parallel-twin adventure motorcycle, the Africa Twin, which is confirmed to come with a dual clutch gearbox transmission (DCT). Here, it is likely to make its presence by July this year. The next in rumors is a fully faired illustration of the company’s best selling CB Hornet 160R. And now the patent leak of Honda XRE 300, which has filed in India, is ensuring this adventure tourer launch anytime soon in near future.

Evidently, the Honda XRE 300 is a full-fledged adventure tourer with necessary fitments such as high mounted front fender, long travel suspension, spoke wheels, nutty tyres and high ground clearance.

While in terms of mechanicals, the XRE 300 is loaded with a fuel-injected single-cylinder air-cooled motor with the displacement of 291.6cc. The mill is liable to generate 25.4HP of maximum power and 27.6 Nm of peak torque. The all sum of power will be passed on to rear wheel via an integrated 5 speed gearbox. The suspension duties will be fulfilled via a telescopic front fork with 245mm travel distance and a rear placed pro-link mono shock with 225 mm travel. The braking power will come from 256 mm and a 220mm disc at front and rear wheel respectively, which is anticipated to be in connection with optional ABS.

With Weight of 153kg, the XRE 300 is also having excellent ground clearance figures, 259mm which made the tourer easy roll on to the harshest terrains.

As per some reports, it could hit the Indian dealerships by October 2017 with a price sticker falling in the vicinity of Rs 2-2.5 lakh ex-showroom. With this price tag, the XRE 300 adventure vehicle will go in competition with upcoming KTM Duke 390 Adventure and BMW G310 GS.
