Honda Launches New 2017 Hornet 160R at Rs 82,095, Gets An Array of Updates

Honda has launched the next-generation model of its naked performance motorcycle, the 2017 Hornet 160R at Rs 82,095. Currently, it is the most premium locally manufactured motorcycle in Indian lineup after the discontinuation of sports legends the CBR 150R and CBR250R from the product list.

The new CB Hornet is different from the previous model and the difference are listed here:

1. The New Hornet 160R gets an AHO attachment that has become a mandatory attribute in every newly launched and updated model of the motorcycle after stringent BS-IV emission norms came into effect.

2. It is an updated member in Honda’s lineup but gets degraded at power end, the latest Hornet 160R now churns out 15.04bhp, that was 15.66bhp at 8500rpm, around 0.62bhp downfall. However, the torque generation is same, 14.76Nm at 6500rpm.

3. Light in weight: New Hornet 160R, if compared the updated specs at the official website to specs of the older version, both the Std and CBS version which were 140 and 142 kgs respectively, now weighs 2kg lesser at 138 and 140kgs respectively.

4. It is the pretty unexpected reason, as due to some reasons, Honda revised wheelbase measure at 1346 mm, which is 1mm more than the earlier model.

5. Last but not the least cosmetic update, at this ground, the company has taken so many steps as they discontinued all five single-tone colours from the lineup including Pearl Siren Blue, Pearl Night Star Black, Sports Red, Pearl Amazing White, Neo Orange Metallic.

The recent CB Hornet 160R colour palette comprises four options, which comprises special edition colours of Striking Green and Mars Orange, and newly added Sports Red and Athletic Blue Metallic. The special edition colour options are old in the lineup and were introduced in August last year. However the company has eliminated the special edition option from the line-up but their colors are the part of current color choices.
