Honda Recalls 41,580 Units of City, Jazz, Civic, Accord in India

And once again, Honda Car India is facing a tremendous recall of its cars in the wake of same faulty airbag issue that is also noted back in July last year. The latest recall, which is a part of the company’s global precautionary campaign concerning Takata front airbag inflators, will affect an overall 41,580 units across various models in India. The affected vehicles include the previous generation of Accord, City, Jazz and Civic.

The automaker explained in a statement that the latest recall will impact models which were made in 2012. "HCIL will voluntarily replace Takata passenger front airbag inflators of 41,580 vehicles of the previous generation of Jazz, City, Civic and Accord as part of Honda's precautionary global recall campaign concerning Takata front airbag inflators," HCIL said in a statement.

According to the company, the vehicles affected by the faulty airbag issues are in the number of:

659 units of the premium sedan Accord
32,456 units of City
7,265 units of Jazz
1,200 units of Civic

"The replacement will be carried out free of cost at HCIL dealerships across India. The replacement of inflators for the affected models would begin immediately and the company will communicate with customers directly," the company said. Last year in July, the company recalled 1,90,578 vehicles of Accord, CR-V, Civic, City and Jazz models to rectify faulty airbags made by Takata.

Well, Honda isn’t the only manufacturer that is facing the recall of its cars instead there are a range of automakers out there which have been using the airbags manufactured by Japan’s Takata Corp. and gone through the same. The list of those auto majors comprises BMW, Chrysler, Daimler Trucks, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru and Toyota.
