Honda has recently revealed the updated 2016 model of Accord which is slated to launch in the month of August this year. This US bound saloon was revealed in Silicon Valley with certain interior and exterior tweaks. In spite off its resemblance to the previous Accord model, the cosmetic updates are highly remarkable. It is anticipated that this model will be launched in India only after being suitably designed for the Indian roads. The launch of this updated version is likely to pose a big threat to cars like Skoda Superb and upcoming Volkswagen Passat.
The 2016 Accord features revamped front and rear bumpers, revised head lights and newly added LED tail lamps and foglamps. The saloon carries an all new aluminium hood with 19-inch alloy wheels, which come as an optional feature.
Now, coming to the interior portion, a lot of improvements and transformations have been done in the cabin. The centre console flaunts Display Audio infotainment system which gets a 7-inch touchscreen facility. This system supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. All these functions can be operated from the controls mounted on the steering wheel. The important output received from parking cameras and LaneWatch System is also displayed on the screen.
The mechanical configuration will remain same in the updated saloon just like the previous version. It will be powered with a 2.4 litre, 4-cylinder engine with a CVT system. Another engine option includes a 3.5 litre, V6 unit clubbed with a six-speed automatic transmission. Besides, a six-speed manual gearbox will be offered for transmission as a standard feature across the range.
