Honda Reveals 2019 Super Cub C125 Day-to-Day Commuter

The Japanese automobile manufacturer, Honda, is all set to bring back the popular Honda Cub motorcycle in a revised look (and with a better engine) in 2019. The all-new 2019 Super Cub has been finally unveiled by the company. Targeting the urban middle-class user segment, the new bike is expected to be launched next year, starting from the US and Europe.

Tagged by the Company as the world’s favourite motorcycle, the Honda Super Cub is an underbone motorcycle which was first introduced by the company in 1958. The bike featured a four-stroke single cylinder engine. Following the success of the first bike in the series, Honda Two Wheeler unveiled multiple editions, with displacement ranging from 49 to 124 cc. The latest in the series is Honda 2019 Super Cub C125, which comes with a 125cc engine.

As for the design, the latest 2019 Super Club features the same classic design as the original vehicle. However, many tweaks have been made in terms of technology, power and the engine. The seat height is 30.7 inches while the wheelbase is 48.9 inches. The bike comes with 1.0 gallon fuel tank and has a curb weight of 240 pounds.

The new Super Cub C125 has a 124.9cc air-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke engine capable of producing 9.5bhp power at 7000 rpm and generates a peak torque of 10.4NM. Other engine specs include 52.4mm x 57.9mm bore and stroke, 9.3:1 compression ratio, PGM-FI with automatic enrichment induction, fully transistorized ignition and SOHC (two valves per cylinder) valve train. The bike has been integrated with four-speed semi-automatic transmission (foot-operated) with chain-based final drive and automatic centrifugal clutch.

There is a single 220mm hydraulic disc (ABS) brake at the front of the vehicle while the rear brake is a mechanical drum. Other features include an all-LED headlamp, part-analogue and part-digital instrument cluster, smart key (keyless) system,

The 2019 Super Cub C125 ABS is expected to be priced at around $3,599 (roughly INR2,46,477) in the US, however, the India launch or price is unknown. As per the Honda’s official website, the bike would be available in one colour - Pearl Niltava Blue - as of now.

The new Super Cub C125 will be launched with the ABS system and would make a great transport choice for daily commuters as well as for fun riders.
