Honda to Eliminate CBR600RR from European Markets

Honda will abandon its CBR600RR at the end of the current year as the machine is unable to handle the Euro emission norms. As we all know, the emission standards will come into action from Jan 1, 2017, all the bike models are required to take this norm as a compulsory thing to survive in markets. The said bike has served for more than three decades in the British market and now is on the edge to sign off from the European segment.

However, no official statement has been rolled out by the company itself, but, the Japanese MCN sources have confirmed the news. According to them, the European replacement for the ultra-focussed CBR600RR will not be seen anytime further. Seeing the graph of 600cc machines, we think, this is even quite a right step as these tourers are not showing good sales and market from the past couple of years.

Besides, producing a 1000cc machine or a 600cc super sportster, the cost is more or less equivalent and the manpower required for the manufacturing of both the bikes is same as well. So, we can say this could be one of the prime reasons too. Naturally, why would one go for the latter if they get the same specifications in the high-performance machine?

Upgrading the CBR600RR makes no sense as the sales are not going to be affected in a good way. Concluding the point here, the legendary beast will be killed off from the market very soon.
