Husqvarna Vitpilen Caught Testing in Spain, Flaunts KTM Duke Makeover

A few months ago, the Austrian two-wheeler erector has acquired Swedish motorcycle maker and then showed up their interest for the expansion of its product line-up in their own way. The Husqvarna has made its booming appearance at the EICMA Motorcycle Show, which was held in the month of November, 2014. The firm has come-up with two Swedish flavored motorbikes, which had glam-up the aura at EICMA named as Husqvarna 401 Vitpilen and 401 Svartpilen. The meaning of these given names is Black arrow and White Arrow in Swedish language, respectively.

After the acquisition of Husqvarna by KTM, the firm has made an announcement that the company will now be taking over rest of the products and is also planning to introduce Duke based models by the end of the year, 2016. Recently, we have got an evidence for the announcement made. Husqvarna 401 Vitpilen was caught testing in Spain. The test mule showed up with an all new makeover acquired by the motorbike; and it clearly seems to be based over the KTM Duke model. The test mule was slightly different from the models showcased at the EICMA, Motorcycle Show, 2014.

Husqvarna 401 Vitpilen Spied

Mechanically, 401 Vitpilen is supposedly powered by liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor configuration incorporated with 375cc engine displacement. As per Stefen Pierer, firm is also having a low capacity engined motorcycles such as 125cc and while speaking about the future plans, a 125cc Vitpilen would supposedly be making its appearance based upon the KTM Duke 125.

Getting into cosmetic details of the spotted motorcycle, it flaunts orange colored alloy wheels and newly designed headlight borrowed by KTM Duke. However, the Husqvarna 401 Vitpilen will not be going to acquire the orange colored components completely; it’s just dealing with a little bit of Austrian flavor in terms of styling. Talking about the forte features, it is supposedly expected to design around the similar trellis frame sharing its technical specifications with KTM Duke 390. The engine of KTM Duke 390 gets manufactured at Bajaj’s Chakan plant, located in Pune, India. The India manufactured gear parts will then send out to Mattighofen plant located in Europe for the final touch.
