Hyundai Eon Sports Edition Launched at INR 3.88 Lakh, Added A New Infotainment System

Hyundai India has added a new version to its smallest offering, Eon hatchback in form of ‘Sports Edition’. This entry-level hatch in new guise has been priced at INR 3.88 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), while its top-end trim goes up to 4.18 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Interestingly, the Sports edition is only being offered with the smaller 0.8-litre engine option and available in Era+ and Magna+ variants.

Under the new Sports moniker, Eon gets a number of cosmetic updates inside out. With the added details, the Era+ Sports Edition costs INR 16,000 more than its outgoing model, while the Magna+ Sports edition comes at an additional charge of INR 10,000.
If you look at the body outfit of this new edition, it may sound strange to you as it gets neither body graphics nor any spoiler, which are obvious with so-called sports version. Instead, the Korean car maker has equipped the small hatch with sporty roof rails and side body moulding graphics.

Well, the highlight of the update lies inside the cabin. The Sports Edition features a 6.2-inch touchscreen infotainment display with phone link, USB, AUX and Bluetooth connectivity.

Mechanically, the Hyundai Eon Sports Edition is continued to get power from the same motor which does duty on the regular model. It is powered by the same 0.8-litre mill, which develops a maximum power of 56 PS along with the peak torque of 77 Nm. the motor is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and returns a good mileage of 21.1kmpl.

The entry level hatch from Hyundai rivals the likes of Maruti Suzuki Alto and Renault Kwid.
