Hyundai May Launch Sonata Hybrid in India Soon

Hyundai India is on the rampage this year as its market is booming continuously for all of its cars. The recent news about the Korean automaker is that it has revealed the Sonata Hybrid and will come into the market for sale in 2015. Now, the Indian market can also expect this hybrid version to be launched in the country next year as the Sonata face is on the plans already. The main reason behind this possible Sonata hybrid version launch is the good show put by Hyundai's arch rival Toyota Camry in India, which is holding 75% total sedan sale, according to the Toyota though.

On the launch of Sonata Hybrid, Hyundai Executive Vice President said that “The launch of our all new Sonata Hybrid, with its class-leading fuel economy and powerful driving performance, come at a time when eco-friendly vehicles are becoming established as a mainstream car. Our latest offering, based on one of our best-selling models, underscores our efforts to meet the growing popularity of eco-friendly vehicles around the world.”

 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid

This new Sonata Hybrid gets power from a 2.0 Litre Gas Direct Injection (GDI) petrol engine that churns out maximum power of 156 PS and 189 Nm torque. Its electric motor is also capable of producing 51 PS power and 205 Nm of torque, making total power 200 PS and 390 of torque. The vehicle delivers 18.2 kmpl while in the electric mode and 17.7 kmpl on combine mode.
