Hyundai to Bring Xcent Facelift in India in 2017

Reports have now started pouring in that Hyundai Xcent facelift will make a debut sometime in the year of 2017, since some rendered has been surfaced on online. Back in March this year, the car has also witnessed a special treatment following the company’s glorious 20 years here in the country. However, it was merely some tweaks including the “20th-anniversary” badge on the boot. Launched in 2014, this would be for the first time when the car will be undergoing through a mid-life cycle refreshment. The major upgraded will get to see in the form of design and styling, while powerhouse is likely to remain unchanged.

With information available, current sell of Hyundai rated at 2,942 in every month out of which more than 30 percent of sales comes from taxi aggregators like Uber and Ola. With this facelifted version, the automaker is planning to cash more from private car buyers. Though, no official information about the vehicle have been emerged on the internet yet, thanks, Autocar which has shared some details about the same.

Starting with the car's exterior profile, the 2017 Xcent facelift will bring out a new front fascia similar to once we have seen with the updated European-spec Grand i10 displayed recently at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. Besides, it will share the front styling with said unit including a more striking hexagonal grille and chin along with a revamped front bumper, headlights and fog lamps as well. This will further enhance the premium looks of the car.

However, the rear profile is the section of the car where you will reportedly found some striking changes as the Xcent has always been criticised for its back profile. According to sources, it will employ a redesigned tail lights, bumper and boot lid in order to give it more bold shape in line with Hyundai’s large global sedan. Similarly, some tweaks will also get to see inside the cabin but in the interests of cost.  Higher-spec variants will house a touchscreen infotainment system with audio-video navigation facility.

The Hyundai Xcent is currently available in both petrol and diesel engine options that are - a 1.2-Litre Kappa2 and a 1.1-Litre U2 CRDi respectively. If the same powerhouse will come up with the facelift edition, the petrol guise will propel the unit with a power of 81 Bhp and 115 Nm of torque, while the diesel motor will make run the sedan with a power of 71 bhp along with 160 Nm of torque. Transmission duties will be taken care of by the same 5-speed unit, supported by front-wheel drive facility.
