Images of Toyota Fortuner Unveiled Online Ahead of its Debut

The latest images of the next generation Toyota Fortuner have been uploaded online ahead of its debut going to be held in Thailand on July 17, 2015. Toyota will offer total five variants of this SUV, 2.7 4X2 6AT, 2.4G 4X2 6MT, 2.4V 4X2 6AT, 2.8V 4X2 6AT and 2.8V 4X4 6AT. It will be available in two diesel and one petrol mill options, powered by a 2.4 litre, 2.8 litre and 2.7 litre units, respectively.

The oil burner variants have been tunned, in which the all-new former will generate a maximum power of 150 bhp and a peak torque of 343 Nm, whereas the 2.8 litre 'GD' will be good for two output states, 177 bhp with 420 Nm and 177 bhp along 450 Nm. On the other hand, its petrol version will continue to be offered with a 2.7 litre VVT-i unit to generate the same 122 bhp of power as its current model.

A 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed automatic transmission will be mated to the specific trims in order to distribute the produced output to their wheels via a 2WD and an optional 4WD configurations. The next generation Fortuner will be designed on the latest ladder-frame chassis, making it more charming and powerful than the existing one.

Inside, this SUV will have a new dual-tone dashboard, steering mounted controls, seven seat configuration, newly silver accented four-spoke steering wheel and a touchscreen display with navigation. Toyota will set up this vehicle in India as the biggest rival of Hyundai Santa Fe, forthcoming Chevrolet Trailblazer, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and the next generation Ford Endeavour between the expected range of INR 20 Lac to INR 25 Lac.
