India-Bound Skoda Octavia Facelift Details Disclosed Ahead Its Launch in July 2017

The facelifted Skoda Octavia, which is scheduled to launch in India around July 10, the detailings of the same has been disclosed. The forthcoming new Octavia will not only receive the cosmetic updates at the exterior front but also inside the cabin. A quad-headlamp setup as similar to the old Mercedes E-Class is just a sample of the same.

With this facelift, the new Octavia will be an upmarket offering with more features than ever before. As it will be equipped with an all-LED light, a new eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with WLAN connectivity for smartphone, a driver fatigue detection system, ambient lighting with adjustable colours, two umbrellas tucked into the doors, a rear-view camera and a hands-free parking system, as standard fitments. While the mid-level trims of the 2017 Octavia will found the additional installment of airbags from existing four to six. And, the top end variant is likely to get eight airbags. In addition to that, the Octavia facelift will now run on 17-inch alloy wheels as against to the 16-inch wheels of the current model.

Sadly, the radar-based obstacle detection system or wireless mobile charging pods of the global variant will not be offered with this India-bound Octavia facelift.

Under the hood, the car will continue to be loaded with the same 1.4 and 1.8-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel engines of the available models in the Indian market. While the mated gearbox transmission will be granted with the choice of manual or DSG automatic gearbox.

Forthcoming Skoda Octavia facelift in action

The price for the upcoming 2017 Skoda Octavia Facelift is not revealed yet, but the expectations are it will be quite cheaper than the current model, owing to upcoming GST on July 1, 2017, which will lead to lower down the asking rate of the imported products.
