At the 2015 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show, Renault has officially launched India-made MPV model Renault Lodgy for the Indonesian market. Carried on the Renault Duster platform, this model resembles a lot to the Renault Lodgy Stepway being sold in India. However some features have been exclusively added to the this model that are not found with the one available in Indian market.
From outside, the car highlights a three-slat grille finished in chrome, fog lights painted in silver color, LED daytime running lights, roof spoiler and vertical tail lights. It stands on 16-inch alloys and features a broad chrome pattern just above the name plate at the rear end.
As we move on to the cabin area, portions like center console, gear lever and instrument cluster seem to be inspired from the Duster SUV. The steering wheel gets a fresh design and the infotainment facility receives a 7-inch MediaNav display. Other significant features include leather upholstery, electrically adjustable ORVMs, cruise control and a fold-able tray for the second row occupants. The Lodgy is available with both 7 and 8-seat configurations.
Source of power in the newly introduced MPV is the same 1.5 litre DCi diesel motor that does duty on the Renault Duster. This engine has the capacity to generate power in two states- 85 PS and 110 PS. In the former state, power is transmitted to the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox. On the other hand, in the latter one, engine is coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission system that in turn is linked to an FWD setup.
