Indian Car Companies Sales and Market Share in Feb 2019

The last month i.e. February 2019 did not go well with the maximum of carmakers as compared to January 2019 because of the decline they faced in the sales. This decline is the same if compared with the last year during the same period.

Given below is the list of the top five Indian car manufacturers for February 2019 with sales figures and market shares:-

1. Maruti Suzuki

Maruti Suzuki has continued its legacy of topping the chart even in February 2019. In India, the company sold 1,36,912 unit which is a huge number. With this much units, it had a growth of 0.2 per cent as compared to the last year which was 1,36,648 units within the same period. If the sale is compared with January 2019, then the Indo-Japanese automaker saw a decrease in the growth by 2 per cent. For now, the Maruti has a 51.8 % of market share.

2. Hyundai

After Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai stands at the second position. The total sales figure for February 2019 was the 43,110 units. As compared to the last year within the same period, the company saw a decline of 3 per cent i.e. the sale for February 2018 was 44,505 units. If the sale is seen in January 2019, then it was a total of 45,803 units which is a decrease of 6 per cent for February 2019. The South-Korean automaker has a market share of 16.3 per cent when compared to Maruti Suzuki is very less but still stands in the second position.

3. Mahindra & Mahindra

Mahindra & Mahindra holds the third position after Hyundai and Maruti Suzuki. The total sales figure of the company for the month of February 2019 was 20,036 units. If the last year is seen for the same period then the homegrown automaker sold 21,062 i.e. decrement of 5 per cent in February this year. If January 2019 is seen, the company sold 22,399 units which means 11 per cent decrement in February 2019. If market share is to be seen, then it holds 7.6 per cent.

4. Tata Motors

The Tata Motors stands at the fourth position. The sales figure for February 2019 of the company is 18,110 i.e. increase of 2 per cent from the last year in the same period which sold 17,826 units. The carmaker also saw a 2 increase in the sales as compared to January 2019 in which only 17,826 units were sold. The market share of Tata Motors is 6.9 per cent.

5. Honda

Honda Cars India grabbed the fifth position. The sales figure saw an increase of 16 per cent if compared from the same month of last year i.e. 13,527 sales sold in February 2019 and 11,650 units sold last year. But as compared to January 2019, the Japanese automaker saw a decline of 26 per cent in February. In January 18,261 units were sold. At present, the share market of the company is 5.1 per cent.
