Intermot 2016: KTM Unveils Revamped Adventure Line-Up

The Australian renowned two wheeler manufacturer KTM had earlier committed to come up with some new tweaks over its Adventure line-up. Well, what could be the best place other than the Intermot 2016, where most of its rivals like Kawasaki, BMW, etc have already showcased their updated line-ups. In order to get head to head with these competitors, now KTM has also arrived at the same along with a revamped Adventure bike portfolio, headlined by the new 1290 Super Adventure R, S and T.



After having these updates, the line-up of the Adventure has got the ultimate R model yet that is fitted with the most powerful engine of 1301 cc, 75-degree V-Twin motor found in the 2016 KTM 1290 Super Duke R. Along with this powertrain, the bike is claimed to be highest capacity Adventure unit on the market that is capable of running with a massive power of 160 hp.

Displayed with orange tubular steel framework, the off-road beast sits on the 18-inch rear and 21-inch front wheels as well as WP fully height adjustable suspensions except for the electronic-assisted one found in the regular model. The bike becomes more appealing with the presence of features like Bosch Motorcycle Stability Control System along with lean angle-dependent support ABS, traction control, tyre pressure monitoring system, exclusive 6.5-inch multi-function dashboard, cruise control and ECU maps for both the on and off roads.



Besides, the range also comprises the road-biased model 1090 Adventure, more off-road concentrated 1090 Adventure R and Super Adventure S and T. The 1090 Adventure here is available with two different power options. Although both are packed with same 1050 cc V-Twin engine, one is producing 125 Bhp of power and the other is good for 95 Bhp of power. In terms of the features, it sports adjustable rider ergonomics, lightweight box pistons, and a range of DLC-coated parts. Moreover, attributes like a slipper clutch, ABS, traction control, steel trellis frame and others are also there.



Talking about the 1290 S, which is virtually the basic version of the Super Adventure and hence loaded with ample of entry level features such as Motorcycle Stability Control, lean angle with ABS, a 6.5-inch full color TFT dashboard, WP semi active suspension at both the front and rear, etc. Besides, it rolls on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear tyres with a view to riding comfortably on the rough roads and the highways as well. On the other hand, Adventure T is virtually introduced as a replacement of the 1290 Super Adventure, where T is referred to touring and that’s because of its quality of additional crash protection, with such features of semi-active suspension, off-road tyres, hill hold control, Motor Slip Regulation and many others.
