Isuzu Launches MU-X SUV in India; Price Starts At Rs 23.99 lakh

The Japanese carmaker, Isuzu, has launched its new 7-seater SUV, the MU-X, in India at an introductory price sticker of Rs 23.99 lakh for 4x2 variant and Rs 25.99 lakh for the 4x4 variant. Both the prices are applicable at Delhi dealership.

Underpinning the platform of next-generation D-Max, the MU-X SUV also shares design and styling elements from the same D-Max pickup truck as well. With an astonishing front face, the MU-X SUV gains head turner on road presence. Considered as the Isuzu MU-7 replacement, the Isuzu MU-X will only be available only in single engine trim. The 3-litre diesel powered engine is capable of churning 174bhp of power and 380Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift and brake shift technology.
The oomph transmitted to the road via four-wheel drive system which is integrated with a ‘shift-on-fly’ transfer box with 4x4 Low and 4x4 High drive modes. The 4x2 AT variant is said to return fuel economy of 13.8kmpl and have an excellent ground clearance of 220mm.

Isuzu MU-X SUV Launched in India

The electronic package of the MU-X is fueled with basket full of features such as an electronic stability control (ESC), traction control system (TCS), hill-start assist (HSA), 4-channel, 4-sensor anti-lock braking system (ABS) setup accompanied by electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) and emergency brake assist (EBA). for the safety of the occupants, the carmaker has employed features such as dual-airbags, rear parking camera, impact-sensing automatic door unlock with airbag release, front seatbelts with pretensions and load limiters and three ISOFIX child seat anchorages in the second row.

In terms of creature-comforts, the Isuzu check marked boxes in the list are electrically-adjustable driver’s seat, a power outlet each for all three rows, automatic climate control, a roof-mounted 10-inch DVD monitor, cruise control and a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 8-speakers and iPod and Bluetooth compatibility. At the exterior end, the MU-X gains LED daytime running lights (DRLs), projector headlamps, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and two-tone front and rear bumpers.

Available in four colours options of Silky White Pearl, Orchid Brown Mica, Cosmic Black Mica and Titanium Silver Metallic for the skin, the SUV will be manufactured locally at the auto major's Sri City-based manufacturing capacity in Andhra Pradesh. In the market, the MU-X will go head to head with the likes of rivals including Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, and the Chevrolet Trailblazer.
