Jaguar XE Petrol Version Price Slashed by INR 2.65 Lakh

Jaguar India introduced its entry-level sedan, Jaguar XE in diesel version yesterday, and now the carmaker has announced a price drop of INR 2.65 Lakh from the existing petrol variant. The base variant of Jaguar XE petrol which was earlier sold at a price of INR 39.39 Lakh, now available at INR 37.25 Lakh. While the range-topping, Portfolio trim which was earlier cost INR 47.99 Lakh, can be availed at a price of INR 45.34 Lakh.

NOTE - All the aforementioned prices are ex-showroom Delhi.

The petrol Jaguar XE is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged unit that develops the maximum power of 240 PS along with the peak torque of 340 Nm.

Based on the carmaker’s modular vehicle architecture, the entry-level sedan is the only model in its class to feature the extensive use of aluminium. In ratio with steel, aluminium used in its construction is around 75 percent which not just helps in reducing the overall weight but also provide incredible strength to its body.

The major features on the list include Meridian Sound System, panoramic sunroof and an 8-inch touchscreen display with InControl infotainment system. To provide enhanced drive experience, the car gets Jaguar Drive Control System which enables the driver to choose between Normal, Eco, Dynamic modes or Rain Ice Snow modes.

The newly launched Diesel version of the XE is identical to that of the petrol trim in terms of dimension, features, and specs, expect mechanical details. Beneath the front-end, the new Jaguar XE diesel comes with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder motor belongs to the carmaker’s new Ingenium family. Internationally, the engine is available in two states of tune - 160 bhp and 177 bhp, however, in India, we only get the more powerful version out of the two. Being an oil burner, the motor produces a maximum torque of 430 Nm. The outputs are channelled via a standard 8-Speed transmission operated with paddle shifters.
