The 2018 Jeep Wrangler, which was officially introduced at the Los Angeles Auto Show 2017, was recently found spied testing in Goa, India. An Instagram user with handle exoticcarsingoa has posted a photo of the four-wheeler. The photo confirms the 4-door version of the Jeep Wrangler JL which is expected to go on sale in India later this year.
The body-on-frame SUV structure of the new Jeep Wrangler comes with a unique design that features a more sporty windshield which offers better aerodynamics and also has an A-pillar that provides support to the rearview mirror by remaining in place even when the windshield is down. The aerodynamics of the vehicle is further improved by its keystone-shaped grille that has a swept-back top. The beltline has been lowered to give space for larger windows for better outer visibility.

Other noteworthy exterior features include LED headlamps, LED turn signals, LED fog lamps, LED tail lamps and 18-inch wheels. Even though the SUV is available in multiple versions with different door, windshield and top combinations, only the 4-door version is likely to be launched in India.
As for the interior, the 2018 Jeep Wrangler is almost similar in design and layout to the third-generation model. The basic changes have been made in terms of technologies which have been upgraded to ensure increased comfort and convenience for the user.
Other notable interior features include a 7-inch TFT dashboard display for driver information with 100+ configuration settings, an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system from Uconnect, four USB ports, push-button starter, longer armrests, a 115-volt AC auxiliary power outlet and 12-volt accessory outlet for electronics and mobile devices.
The all-new Jeep Wrangler JL has been introduced in three engine versions - 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 diesel and 3.6-litre V6 naturally aspirated. The petrol engine is capable of producing 270 hp of power and 400 Nm of peak torque. It is controlled by an 8-speed automatic transmission system. The engine is also mated with an eTorque mild-hybrid system aimed at increasing the launch performance and comfort during start/stop for drivers and for reducing fuel consumption.
The naturally aspirated V6 petrol engine is capable of delivering 285 hp of power and 352 Nm of maximum torque. The engine is controlled by a 6-speed manual transmission and is also available in 8-speed automatic transmission option.

The diesel engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and produces a torque of 598 Nm and up to 260 hp power. It is also integrated with an engine start/stop system.
The actual specifications of the Jeep Wrangler JL Indian variant are not known. The vehicles will be sold in India as a CBU import. The official production of the right-hand drive variant of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler is likely to begin in June 2018. As for the price, the lowest variant could be priced at around 70 lakh.
