Kawasaki All Set to Launch W800 in India

Kawasaki, the renowned two wheeler manufacturing firm is pulling up its socks to unveil its new and first modern-retro bike in the country. The bike is expected to hit the Indian roads by next year. The company has recently imported a single unit of this bike from Japan, which could be the homologation model as the street goon is powered by a 773 cc V-Twin engine and this is the policy of India that all of the bikes under 800 cc should have to go through a Homologation process.

Indian riders are showing a keen interest in classic and modern-retro bikes from the last couple of years. Apart from it, the successful launch of Triumph Street Twin and Bonneville also made Kawasaki to introduce its W-800 motorbike in India. The Japanese manufacturer has still not made any statement, whether it will land as completely-built-up (CBU) models or a completely-knocked-down model. Yet the upcoming bike is expected to get assembled in India, as all of the bikes under 800 cc of the company assembles here in India.

Talking about the specification, the Kawasaki W-800 is powered by a 773 cc V-Twin engine, which is capable of delivering a maximum power of 47 bhp at 6500 rpm with a peak torque of 60 Nm with the help of a 6-speed transmission unit. Apart from it, the bike comes with 39mm telescopic fork at front and twin shocks at the rear as suspension units. It also features a single 300mm disc brake with twin-piston caliper at front along with a 160mm drum brake at rear side.

The bike is expected to be available at a price rate near to Harley-Davidson Street 750 or lower.
