Kawasaki India Recalls the Z900 Naked Sports Over Faulty Suspension

A new roadster the Z900 from giant Japanese bike maker has been recalled in India over faulty tie-rod for the rear monoshock. In the recall, the limited models on sale in India brought from Thailand from CBU route are found affected.

As per the recall, if the rear suspension bottoms out and the hole in the tie-rod frame elongated, unfortunately, it can turn out in a rear suspension failure and situation can be dangerous. To resolve the issue, authorized Kawasaki service center will first examine the frames and replace the bracket kit with a new one. In case elongation found more than the predetermined limits, the brand will also replace the frame.

Kawasaki India will look into this matter by contacting affected customers as soon as possible. Though, till now there’s no case regarding a broken rear suspension has been reported yet. In the recall, the issue will be fixed free of cost. Other than this, a list of the Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) has already been issued by the company for an easy identification of faulty units.

The Z900 was showcased at the 2016 EICMA show in Milan and is a successor of the Z800. it is powered by a new 948cc inline four-cylinder engine that is capable of generating 123.6 hp at 9500 rpm and 98.6 Nm of torque at 7700 rpm. In India, the Z900 is available to purchase at the price sticker of INR 7.68 lakh (ex-showroom).
