Made in India Cheaper Kawasaki Ninja ZX10R First Delivery Taken

A Mumbaikar happen to be the first owner of the India-Made CKD unit of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX10R sports bike. Compared to the CBU unit, the CKD unit costs a little less over Rs 6 lakhs. The introductory price for the ZX10RR starts from Rs 16.10 lakhs. However, the India launch price for the ZX10R is just Rs 12.8 lakhs (all thanks to the CKD units). Reportedly, the CKD units contributed towards a major reduction in the costs. Earlier, the CBD unit owing to high import tariffs cost a whopping Rs 18.8 lakhs ex-showroom. Mr. Yutaka Yamashita, Managing Director of India Kawasaki Motors hailed the efforts of the newly established R&D responsible and showered praises for the successful local assembly of the new Ninja ZX-10R and new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR.

Power

The beast is powered by the more responsive 998cc, liquid cooled, inline, 4 cylinder engine. The engine boasts of 197 PS power at 13,000 rpm and 113.5 Nm torque at 11,500 rpm. It can clock a top speed of 299 kmph. The crankshafts have been tweaked to lower inertia for better acceleration and deceleration as well as improve cornering abilities.

There are three variants on offer with the Kawasaki Ninja ZX10R. These include Satin Silver colored ZX10R ABS, black ZX10R SE, and green ZX10R KTR Edition. On road, the sports bike will rival the likes of Suzuki GSX1000R, Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade, Yamaha R1, BMW S1000RR.
