Kawasaki Z250SL Readying For Indian Launch in 2015

The competition in the quarter-liter segment in the Indian two-wheeler industry is heating-up each passing day, as every other motorcycle manufacturer is introducing a new product in the aforementioned segment. Kawasaki is also planning to give its customers a chance to explore a wide range of products. At the launching ceremony of the Kawasaki Ninja H2, the company has made an announcement that the company will be expanding its Indian product portfolio with the introduction of three new motorcycles. Out of these three, one is Kawasaki Z250SL; the quarter-liter engined sports motorcycle.

Mechanically, the street-fighter has a rivaling power plant of 249cc engine displacement. The Kawasaki Z250SL is coupled with single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor with an engine displacement of 249cc. The fuel-injected motor has the capabilities to churn out a total power of 27.6 BHP @ 9700 RPM and achieves a peak torque of 22.6 Nm @ 8200 RPM. The 249cc displaced engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

Kawasaki Z250SL

The naked street-fighter is built around a Tube Diamond type frame, which is further supported by Telescopic front forks and Uni-Trak adjustable suspension at the rear. The firm has installed dual-piston; single disc brakes at both front and rear. The total power generated by the engine is transferred to the rear wheel via chain drive. The puffed-up fuel tank incorporated with nose-down and tail-up design, it flaunts amazing attitude. The newly designed alloy wheels, highly stepped-up seat and the highlighted chassis have its own style.

The Kawasaki Z250SL has several existing and upcoming rivals such as Benelli TNT25, KTM Duke 200 and upcoming Yamaha R25. The naked street-fighter will be brought down over the Indian tarmac via the CKD route carrying an expected price tag in between Rs 2 to 2.5 Lacs (Ex-Showroom).
