Kawasaki's Versys 650 will be Launched in India on December 24

Kawasaki, the Japanese two wheeler maker is going to launch its Versys 650 in the middleweight Tourer segment in the Indian market. The automaker will launch this most anticipated motorcycle on 24 December at Kawasaki dealership in Mumbai. The Versys 650 will be displayed along with other 2016 products of the automaker.

Visually, Versys 650 shares design specifications from its elder sibling Versys 1000 and enriched with dual headlights, a muscular fuel tank and LED tail light. Moreover, Reach-adjustable handlebars and high adjustable windshield make it a convertible adventure Tourer that can turn to a sports bike.

Kawasaki placed Versys 650 in between Ninja 650 and the Z800 in pricing aspects and wants to grab a huge volume by this entry level adventure motorcycle. The Versys 1000, elder sibling has failed to attract audience while competing with Triumph's Tiger adventure motorcycle. The Japanese marque is expecting to mark a good figure in terms of the economic scale.

Mechanically, Versys 650 gets propelling power by a 649cc liquid-cooled parallel twin engine that produces the power of 69 BHP at 8500 RPM and torque of 64 NM at 7000 RPM. Six-speed transmission transfers power to rear wheel by a chain drive. Apart from this, the bike is featured with USD shock absorber at the front and monoshock suspension at the rear end. The dual disc at the front and single disc at the rear wheel secures the ride.

Versys 650 will be the first Completely Knock Down (CKD) offering by the manufacturer enriched with Anti-Lock Braking System as standard equipment. The motorcycle will be priced competitively as the motorcycle has enough room in the adventure segment.
