KTM India has recalled KTM DUKE 390 ABS model because of its faulty front sprocket. The fault of this front sprocket has been found in those bikes which got manufactured before the month of March, 2014. This will be the first time ever when the company has to issue a recall for the KTM 390 DUKE ABS. Now the company has already started focusing on the fault found in the bike.
According to the report if the faulty part i.e. the front sprocket is not replaced immediately, there will be some possibility in the future for the front sprocket to get misaligned in a particular period of time. This misalignment of the front sprocket could some day lead to the chain slipping off the teeth. The problem could have seen in the locking plate of the front sprocket which will lead to the misalignment and force off the teeth.
As per the fault, the company is appealing to the owner of this bike to get their vehicle to the service station once to analyze the faulty part. If the front sprocket found faulty the part will get replaced by the service station.
Company claimed that till today they have not received any incident being reported by the bike owner of this bike. They informed that there is no occurrence reported regarding the fault in the front sprocket. The company has already asked the owners of the bike to visit the service centers as soon as possible. There is no additional cost to replace the faulty front sprocket. The services to replace the faulty front sprocket is directly provided by the company and it will take around 30 minutes to get it replaced.
