KTM Super Duke R 2017 Model Spotted Testing

Recently, the test mule of the latest KTM Super Duke R has been spotted testing near KTM's headquarters in Austria. It is believed that the bike will be carrying enhanced electronic rider aids. These include cornering ABS, traction control and the Inertial Measurement Unit systems to monitor wheelies. Apart from this there are going to be some styling updates. In spite of the black tape on the front, a new headlamp has been seen on the fascia. There could also be an LED unit as it has been seen in most of the new KTM models.

It seems like no changes have been made to the fuel tank which is fair enough to keep the cost down. Further, the side panels have been narrowed down and when combined with front lights, appear like a big wasp. Moving on, the exhaust has been tweaked slightly and houses a silencer larger in size as compared to the previous one. Other modifications include the catalytic converter at the rear of the engine and a re-styled heat shield painted in black.

It is being speculated that the bike could be revealed as a 2017 model by the end of this year since that makes it comply with the new Euro4 regs which will be applied from Januray 1. Moreover as the 1290 Super Duke GT model already complies with Euro4 norms, its 173Bhp motor will be borrowed by the Super Duke R's upcoming version.
