Locally Manufactured Jeep compass SUV To be Unveiled on April 12

The much-anticipated Jeep Compass SUV will be soon launched in India. The good news is that the automaker is making the vehicle at the Pune plant. The production-model will be unveiled on April 12, 2017. However, the company will launch the car with a price at a later stage after bringing the car on the public stage for a glimpse. The launch of the car is likely to be held in mid-2017. The all-new made in India Compass SUV will be replacing the ongoing Compass and the Patriot SUVs and it is said to be one of the important launches of the year.

The car has been already rendered previously that provides better idea about the design philosophy. The 2017 Jeep compass will be kept alongside the recently launched Cherokee SUV and the Renegade. The car is based on a compact 4x4 architecture. The design looks close enough to the Grand Cherokee.

The automaker will be manufacturing the Jeep Compass at FCA's Ranjangaon facility located near Pune. As the car is the locally produced model, it could be priced at a lower rate than its other two siblings in the lineup.

Talking about the interior of the SUV, the SUV takes design cues from the Grand Cherokee and gets a neat appeal. The all-new compass SUV will get the front-wheel drive as standard with an optional All-Wheel Drive across all trim levels.

On mechanicals front, it is expected to get 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engine options along with a 2.4-litre naturally aspirated powermill available in the US. The engine will be mated to a 9-speed automatic along with a manual option too. According to Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), the all-new Jeep Compass will be available in 17 engine options globally.
