Mahindra Launches Official Yezdi of India Website; Roll Out Motorcycles in Coming Years

Yezdi bikes, were in high demand among the motorcycle enthusiasts in 70’s-80’s in India. These bikes were prominent for their on-road capabilities and off-road performance. However, they were a fuel guzzler. Still, these bikes are attention seeker of every biking enthusiast in the country.

Mechanically, packed with a 2 stroke engine the Yezdi bikes breathe out by twin exhausts setup. The Yezdi bikes were manufactured by the Ideal Jawa and carried a tagline of ‘Forever bike, Forever value’. True to its tagline, the bike were in leading players on the streets during that era and was built at the Ideal Jawa plant in Mysore.

Last year, Mahindra announced that they have acquired the Jawa and products are under development. Mahindra had earlier revealed its plan to launch Jawa motorcycles in India within coming 2 years. The upcoming Yezdis will be produced at the Pithampur-based Mahindra facility.

In order to grab audience attention, Anand Mahindra recently took to social media with a new website that proclaims ‘Yezdis of India’. Though, the website does not share any information about this bike coming back into markets, the resurrected bike brand could make its Indian debut at the 2018 Auto Expo with a probable launch sometime at the end of 2019.
