India famous car maker company Mahindra has been very prominent in the recent times with its powerful and featureful SUVs like Mahindra Scorpio and XUV500. The company also launched a refreshed version of its Scorpio SUV last month and it got a good response from the customers as well. Now, as the rumors are flying in the market, Mahindra might launch an automatic version of Scorpio as well and that too in the a couple of months! Supporting such reports are frequent test drives of a prototype model on the country roads. I guess the company is giving its all to stay alive in the spectacularly growing competition of the Indian car market in each segment.
Talking about the car, this new expected 6-speed transmission unit could be available only on the top of the class S10 variant and the price would get hiked by around INR 1 Lac or so for this new feature. Th engine it will use may stay the same 2.2 Litre mHwak diesel mill, producing 120 bhp power and 280 Nm torque and hence making it the only car available in the country with automatic transmission under this niche with rivals like Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano.
