Mahindra Reveals KUV100 Anniversary Edition at an Event in Mumbai

Launched in January 2016, Mahindra KUV100 has witnessed decent sales in the initial months, even, it beats the company’s most popular model Bolero in terms of the sales number, all thanks to its unique micro SUV shape. But, over the course of past few months, the sales of the vehicle have started decline from an average of over 5000 units to merely under 2000 units every month.
However, the automaker doesn’t seem to be leaving the efforts and coming up with an updated model of the same that will also mark its one-year entry in the segment. Called as an anniversary edition, a one of the units has also been showcased at an event in Mumbai showing some tweaks over the design and cabin as well.

Starting with the exterior, the new KUV100 comes with a two tone paint job with a black finished roof and pillars that are available in two different option - Flamboyant Red and Dazzling Silver. Moreover, it also gets larger 15-inch wheels instead of having the regular 14 inches. Inside the cabin, it receives an all-black interior along with a new upholstery option for the seats. Apart from that, the Anniversary Edition will also be offered with some optional Explorer kit to further enhance the appeal of the car that includes Sporty exterior kit, Sporty interior kit, Premium exterior kit, Premium interior kit.

Currently, Mahindra KUV100 is made available in both petrol and diesel powertrains. The petrol derivative has a 1.2-litre engine making out 82 bhp of max power with 115 Nm of torque. The diesel derivative, on the other hand, also has a 1.2-litre turbocharged unit producing 77 bhp of power with 190 Nm of peak torque. Both, the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual and gets front wheel drive setup. Available in total seven variants - K2, K2+, K4, K4+, K6, K6+ and K8, the compact SUV ranging between INR 4.71 Lakh and INR 6.37 Lakh for the petrol powered variants, while the diesel version starts from INR 5.65 Lakh and goes up to INR 7.30 Lakh.
