Mahindra to Set Up Scorpio in Automatic Variants

As per the market report, the homegrown automaker Mahindra & Mahindra is aggressively working on its Scorpio SUV to mark an amazing presence of this vehicle with an automatic transmission in the Indian automobile market. The manufacturer has been already getting an impressive response from its new generation Scorpio for last September despite having a lack of automatic variant. Hence, Mahindra has decided to expand its prominence by making a noteworthy introduction of the Scorpio AT soon in India in 2WD and 4WD drivetrain options.

Total three variants will be available, such as S6+, S8 and S10 with a 6-speed self shifting hydraulic transmission. The same unit has also been included to the Ssangyong Tivoli compact SUV, while the engine will be same as its existing manual model powered by a 2.2 litre mHawk diesel unit producing an appreciable power of 120 bhp and a peak torque of 280 Nm.

Apart from including an Automatic badge on the rear, this upcoming vehicle will render the similar aspect as the current one with the same projector headlights comprising LED daytime running lights, radiator grille, 17 inch alloy wheels and body colored handles.

Its top end S10 AT version will have an All Wheel Drive configuration and will comprise a 6 inch touchscreen infotainment system along with DVD, CD, AUX-in, USB and Bluetooth connectivity options. Moreover, voice assist system, rain & light sensors, GPS navigation, driver information through an infotainment system and intellipark could also be found in this same automatic variant.
