Mahindra XUV500 Facelift on the Cards

India's homegrown automaker Mahindra Motors is chalking out a plan to expand its portfolio in the swiftly growing Indian market. Recently, the company has launched the facelift of its top-selling SUV Mahindra Scorpio and the car is getting good response in the market. Apart from that, the company going to launch 2 more SUV named as S101 and U301 Bolero in the compact version in the upcoming year of 2015. These two models have already spied testing on the Indian roads as well. Now, Mahindra is also planning to work on the facelift of its popular XUV500 SUV that was first launched in the year 2011. However, the sales are on decline since last one year for the XUV500. 

The new facelift model is expected to be based on the diesel-hybrid model, which was demoed at the Auto Show Delhi, early in 2014. There also are plans to offer an automatic diesel variant the demand for automatic SUV is increasing steeply in India. Talking about the engine, the SUV will retain its 2.2 Litre mHwak turbo diesel power mill, but will be tuned to produce more power and torque compared to the current model. 

Mahindra might also launch the petrol variant of the XUV500 as its market is also on the rise and it would also help the company to build image outside the country.
