Maruti Ciaz SHVS Launch Confirmed on September 1

Maruti has made an official announcement that the upcoming Ciaz hybrid version will be launched on September 1, 2015. It will be carrying the SHVS technology and will replace the existing diesel variant of the model. Lately, this car has been a hot topic of discussion mainly because of its innovative mechanical configuration. The Blue Technology utilized by the new Ciaz will help in reducing harmful emissions.

Power will be sourced by a 1.3 litre MultiJet diesel motor along with a lithium ion battery that will make use of regenerative braking system, thereby charging itself on its own. This battery will generate heavy amount of torque and hence the fuel efficiency offered will be measured around 28 km/l.

Apart from the impressive mileage, there will also be start stop technology present in the sedan, which enables the engine to stop automatically when you are stuck in a traffic jam. As soon as the clutch is released, it will re-start on its own and wastage of fuel is avoided. The SHVS technology equipped in the hybrid Ciaz will also be put to use in the upcoming models, like Suzuki iM-4 and Baleno.

Availing benefit from the FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacture of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles Programme) by Government, the company will save upto INR 1 Lac on the cost and thus the car price is likely to get hiked by just INR 30,000 to INR 40,000 from its outgoing diesel variant. It is likely to be available with three variants- VDi, ZDi and ZDi +.
