Maruti Retails 4830 Units of Ignis in January

Indo-Japanese auto major Maruti Suzuki’s latest product, the Ignis seems to has got off to a positive start in India. Within a less than one month only, the native automaker has retailed 4830 units of this compact crossover. Launched on January 13 this year, the car is being sold via the Nexa Dealership alongside the two other popular models - Baleno hatch and S-Cross SUV. Aimed at the younger audience, the Ignis has managed to clock over 6,000 pre-bookings and 10,000 bookings after the launch. The waiting period for this new vehicle is 3 months.

Based on a new generation platform, Maruti Ignis is available in both petrol and diesel trim levels. The petrol-powered unit has a 1.2-litre K-series producing 83 PS of power with 113 Nm of torque, while the diesel-powered comes with a 1.3-litre unit generating a power of 75 PS with 190 Nm of torque. Both engines comes fitted with a 5-speed manual gearbox, while an automatic gearbox is also there as an option. The carmaker claims a fuel efficiency figure of 20.89 kmpl for the petrol and 26.80 kmpl for the diesel.

Moreover, there are a host of latest styling and design package making it stand out from the crowd. It comes in 11 different variants including both petrol and diesel unit. The petrol mill starts from INR 4.73 for entry-level Sigma and goes up to INR 6.89 for top-spec Alpha unit whereas the diesel starts from INR 6.58 for Delta and goes up to INR 8.03 for Alpha.
