Maruti Suzuki Baleno Booking Crosses One Lakh Units

Maruti Suzuki Baleno has finally crossed the booking of one lakh since its launch. The premium hatchback is important to the automaker that it has decided to manufacture in the country. Recently, Maruti also exported some units of India-bound Baleno to Japan. It was also displayed at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show at the Suzuki booth. It made its first ever debut in October 2015 aiming to target mass market.

Till now, it has successfully received positive reviews and looking to this the renowned carmaker Maruti has planned to export the model to 50 countries, making a global comeback. The carmaker is using the Mundra Port of Gujarat to carry out its Europe export. The batch consists of about 1800 units, which will be distributed among countries like Germany, Belgium, Spain, Poland, and Slovenia.

Presently, Maruti Suzuki Baleno is offered with two engine options, namely, 1.2 litre petrol and 1.3 litre diesel powermill. Both the engines come mated to 5-speed manual transmission as standard. However, the European-spec and the Japan-spec Baleno gets powered by a 1.2 litre petrol engine, mated to SHVS hybrid technology. Additionally, they also get an 1.0litre Booster Jet variant as well.The Booster Jet variant is yet to arrive in India.

Since its debut in India, Maruti Baleno has been seen competing with some close rivals like Hyundai Elite i20 and Honda Jazz. With the launch of the new trim, the Baleno is expected to hit more numbers in the coming days.
