Maruti Suzuki Baleno Scores Three Star Rating in Euro NCAP Safety Test

The European New Car assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) has conducted a collision test on the India made Maruti Suzuki Baleno and the hatchback scored a dual rating in the test. Moreover, it has scored another 4-star rating for the optional 'Radar Brake Support’ safety equipment. So, Maruti suzuki Baleno becomes the first car to receive a 'Dual Rating' from Euro NCAP.

It is worth mentioning that the Baleno comes equipped with an optional speed assistance and autonomous braking system, which made it qualify the test. The India made Baleno comes equipped with dual airbags and ABS only. While, the European-spec gets six airbags for all round protection.

In India, Maruti suzuki Baleno is available at a starting price of Rs 5.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). If the number of airbags increase in the Indian-spec, the price might go higher. As the radar-based features has been banned in India, there’s no chance of getting the ‘Radar Brake support’ here.
