Maruti Suzuki is always known for satisfying need of mass India not the class India, so in order to change its reputation among Indian buyers Maruti has embraced its customer with new Maruti Celerio, which is going to be a good competitor for Hyundai i10, the car of the year 2008. Let's have a look at the comparison of both the cars.

Maruti Celerio

Maruti Celerio, the successor of Maruti A star is not the kind of car which will easily get users attention by just one glance but to support the fact we all know Maruti cars have never been attractive in terms of looks, the rear end of the car is similar to alto 800 variant of the company and the front end of the car is not at all stimulating, still the car can’t be termed as timid or something and considering the history of Maruti, one should not complain about its look.

Engine is the core of any car, Maruti Celerio is equipped with a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, 4-valve, K10B Aluminum unit which brainstorms out a maximum power of around 67bhp and the extraordinary torque of 90Nm. Maruti has never been into Automatic Manual Transmission, but its new Celerio facilitates its user with the first ever Maruti car embedded with AMT.

Various features such as ABS, power steering are entangled with the stylish interiors proving the car a full to package.

Hyundai i10

Hyundai i10, the car of the year 2008 is Hyundai’s one of the bestselling car in the medium budget range. Unlike Celerio, the exterior of the car is well improvised, the front end of the car seems to be much more attractive and classy where as the rear end compliment the look of the car as well.

The bumper of the car is used to cover iRDE2 1.1-litre power train which surfs out 68bhp at 5500 RPM and torque of 99.08 Nm at 4500 RPM. The interior of the car comes in with double tone grey shade dashboard and gives a real classy look. The front end as well as the rear end both serves out to be really spacious, thus preventing any need of more space.

Like Celerio, i10 also supports ABS, but the power steering is absent in the base model of the same, which makes it kind of hard to be driven.

Verdict and pricing

When talking about the market such as in India, price serves an important role as well as the feature.

Maruti is always known for its pricing factor, it has always such range of price that can easily attract the mass of India, and the same trend was noticed in Celerio as well. The price bracket lies from 3.90-4.96.

When i10 comes into spotlight, the base model of the same is not as featured as the base model of Celerio and the price range of the car vary from 3.87-6.39, the higher range is quite expensive due to presence of Automatic Transmission in the high end of the range.

Now when it comes to choosing the car, though Maruti has some additional feature as compared to the base model of the i10, but the compromise in design is too much to adjust with, moreover there is no significant price difference between the two. If a final conclusion has to be drawn out for the two models, Hyundai i10 will always be the better choice.
