Maruti Suzuki Ciaz S Launched at INR 9.39 Lakh

Maruti Suzuki has expanded the Ciaz lineup with the introduction of a new Ciaz S trim. Available with both the petrol- and diesel-fed engines, the Ciaz S priced at Rs 9.39 lakh and Rs 11.55 lakh respectively (both prices, ex-showroom Delhi). Both these trims are based on the car’s Alpha trims. In the lineup, the Ciaz S petrol sits above the Alpha manual trim by just Rs 11,000 and at the similar amount, the diesel variant ranked on top in the portfolio.

At the above mentioned extra amount, the ‘S’ variant gets front, side, and rear under spoilers and, a trunk-mounted spoiler with an integrated stop lamp at the exterior front. All these attributes offer an aggressive stance. Inside the cabin, you’ll be welcomed with an all-black interior trim, grey chrome inserts on panels and black leather seats. At the price hike of Rs 11,000, it is frankly a whole lot of style for the buyers.

Unfortunately, the Ciaz S is not being offered with the automatic gearbox and hence slashed the Zeta AT price by nearly Rs 48,000 and Alpha AT price by around Rs 1.03 lakh. Mechanically, the Ciaz S is powered by the same 1.4-litre petrol motor engine and a 1.3-litre diesel engine of the previous model. The power out for both the engine variants is 92PS/130Nm and 90PS/200Nm respectively. Transmission duties for both the engines are under a 5-speed manual transmission consideration.

The flagship model for the India’s largest carmaker., the Ciaz has sold out over 1.7 lakh units since its launch in October 2014. Currently, the Ciaz dominates the segment with a market share of 43.5 per cent, where it competes with the iconic Honda City, the Hyundai Verna, and the VW siblings - Skoda Rapid and Volkswagen Vento.
