Maruti Suzuki Ciaz to be Powered by an Efficacious Mill

After launching the Ciaz in October last year, Maruti Suzuki again took a step forward for this car in January 2015 via unscrewing its Z+ variant at the place of the outgoing Z(0) in order to make it more promising than other models available in the same league. The manufacturer applied a lot of strategies to allure the customers, but still it has succeeded to some extent as the sedan segment has been led by the two prominent runabouts, Honda City and Hyundai Verna.

The reason behind its defeat is the engines of these two models, which are enough in aggressively beating the likes of the Ciaz. Both of these products come with a 1.5 litre and 1.6/1.4 litre mills, respectively, whereas the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is powered by a 1.4 litre petrol unit producing 98 hp of power at 6,000 rpm with 130 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm, and 1.3 litre diesel engine making 88 bhp.

Now, the market reports are saying that the brand has planned to set up this sedan again in India with the powerful engine and is expected to get the Fiat sourced 1.6 litre unit, which would be capable of churning out the tremendous output of 120 bhp. On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki is also aiming to introduce its self developed 1.5 litre powertrain.

This aggressive preparedness of the new Ciaz is clearly giving an indication to the Honda City and Hyundai Verna that they should be geared up to take a tough challenge from its side soon.
