Maruti Suzuki Hike Prices Across All Models

The country’s largest automaker Maruti Suzuki has announced a price hike of its entire product range being sold through both regular and premium nexa dealerships. The price increase in the range of INR 1,500 to INR 8,014 and will be applicable to on all its model, Maruti said in a statement. However, the recently launched Maruti Ignis compact crossover untouched in terms of this price effect. According to the company, “The hike in car prices is because of increase in commodity, transportation and administrative costs.”  

This is the first price hike from the automaker in 2017. Before this, Maruti had hiked the prices in August last year of its ICOTY 2017 Vitara Brezza and Baleno by INR 20,000 and INR 10,000 respectively. Currently, Maruti retails a range of vehicles starting from entry-level hatchback Alto 800 to premium-class S-Cross SUV that cost between INR 2.45 lakh and INR 12.03 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Apart from these, the company has also strong plans for 2017 which has already lighten up with the launch of Maruti Ignis and the WagonR VXi+ unit and will be followed by cars like next-gen Swift, Baleno RS among the others. Moreover, the long anticipated manufacturing facility in Gujarat is reported to go live by mid-February and will roll-out around 15,000 examples of Baleno by the March-end.
