Maruti Suzuki Unveils India-made Super Carry

Maruti Suzuki India limited has released the first press shot images of the India-made Super Carry. According to report, the vehicle will be launched in South Africa i8n June 2016. The Super Carry will cost around 129,900 Rand (INR 5.58 lakhs).

Maruti’s manufacturing plant in India will produce the Super Carry and export it to South Africa, including nearby countries. Suzuki Auto SA expects to draw attention of small business professionals and entrepreneurs with the launch of the Super Carry.

As far as the specs are concerned, the Super Carry holds a payload rating of 750 kg. It measures 3.8 meters in length and 1.56 meters in width. The load deck measures 2.18 x 1.49 meters. It offers a ground clearance of 175 mm and a turning cycle of 8.6 meters diameter.

It features an independent front suspension featuring MacPherson struts and coil springs along with high performance leaf springs which ensure long life service without any hassle.

Maruti Super Carry Rear Profile

Under the hood, lies a 1.2-liter GB14 four-cylinder petrol engine with multi-point fuel injection. It produces a maximum power of 72 hp at 6,000 rpm and 101 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm. The engine comes paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox under RWD configuration. The automaker claims that the Super Carry delivers best-in-class fuel economy. It also comes with a 3-year, 100,000 km warranty offer.

Maruti will launch Super Carry in the Indian market by this year itself. In India, it is likely to get the 0.8-liter twin-cylinder diesel engine that is already powering the Celerio model. There is also a possibility of CNG/LPG version of the Super Carry.
