Maruti to Discontinue Swift Tour in India by March 2017

According to ETAuto reports, India’s leading automobile manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, is all set to stop the production of its fleet focused sedan Dzire Tour by the month of March 2017. There is no reason appears behind this step except that the carmaker is just making a way for the new Dzire which is likely to be launched around the same period next year.

“The carmaker will stop production of the Dzire Tour to make way for the new Dzire expected to be launched around March,” sources close to the development said. The reports further suggest that the automaker has already shared its plans with suppliers so they can stop producing the Tour after February 2016. The company had discontinued soon after the launch of ongoing sub-four meter Dzire. However, later in March 2012, the Dzire Tour was reintroduced as a stripped-down model to make an entry to the corporate and taxi segment in India.

The report further suggested that a stripped-down version of the run-of-the Maruti Dzire could be added to its lineup in near future as a replacement for the Dzire Tour. going by the reports, Maruti Suzuki sold 3,017 units of the same here in the country November 2016.

Looks like, Maruti Suzuki is cooking something big under its fleet that can be sensed by a range of model scheduled for their launch here in the country next year. As we earlier reported, the automaker is actively working on bringing several new and updated models in India including Suzuki Ignis, Baleno RS, Next-Gen Swift and many others.
