Maruti To Utilize new Facility in Gujarat for Baleno Production

Maruti Suzuki Baleno has attracted lots of customers both in the domestic as well as international market. Doing a great business in India, the automaker also took a step ahead to experience the possibilities in other foreign countries. In a short period, the automaker started exporting India-made Baleno models to other shores like Japan, Sri Lanka, Nepal. It was recently showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show under the Suzuki banner. Now, the automaker has successfully pushed the demands from the global market. Therefore, the automaker is keen to stretch its production facility in Gujarat. The company is expecting to fulfill the demands according to the deadlines.

The new facility in Gujarat will be operational from 2017. At present, the automaker is capable of producing 8,000 units every month, which is quite sufficient for domestic market but due to the demands from the international markets, the waiting period got increased consistently. So, in order to fulfill the demands, the additional facility was much needed. Now, the company will be able to produce more units, without taking much time in final deliveries.

Moreover, the Gujarat facility is also expected to produce the units powered by the new 1.0-litre three-cylinder Boosterjet turbocharged petrol engine. Currently, Maruti Suzuki Baleno comes with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 83bhp of maximum power, while the 1.3-litre diesel engine variant generates 75bhp of power and 190Nm of peak torque. Both of the trims are mated to a five speed manual transmission, and the optional CVT transmission is limited to the petrol variant.
