The Volkswagen Diesel Scandal is an embarrassing incident for VW Group not even now but also in September, last year. When the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) has found VW group accused of using a defect device or software to manipulate the performance accordingly during testing. The negative consequences of the scandal are still opposing the brands under VW group from introducing new products powered by diesel powertrain in the global market.

But finally, after a lot of confusion, the Bentley has finally unveiled its first ever produced diesel-powered vehicle, dubbed as Bentayga Diesel SUV. On powering, the quickest ever claimed SUV is sourced Audi SQ7’s triple-charged 4.0-liter V8 diesel engine. With the integrated ‘e-booster’ 48V electric supercharger, the mill churns out the monstrous power of 429 bhp and the vertex torque of 900Nm. All the generated power is dispatched to the all four wheels via mated ZF eight-speed automatic transmission.

On the performance end, it is up to the mark as the Bentayga Diesel can run out the 0-100K/h sprint as in time similar to the Audi SQ7’s 4.8 seconds. Unlike other German SUV, it can attain the top speed of 270mph as compared to their top speed, 250Kmph.

After that humiliating scandal, Bentley now boasts the Bentayga Diesel is powered by the lowest CO2 emitting powertrain in its range. The V8 oil burner beside churning monstrous power and effortless performance bestows the excellent mileage figure of 620 miles from the fitted higher capacity 17 gallon fuel tank.

If concerned Bentayga Diesel official launch, the top honcho did not reveal any launch date and its world premiere at the next week coming Paris Auto Show is also in the dark. Well, the speculations around the corner suggests, it is expected to go on sale across Europe by this year end. The SUV will carry the price tag which starts from £135,800, and it is comparatively double of the Audi SQ7’s £70,000 price sticker. When the Bentley Bentayga will be available in North America is not confirmed then we can’t bet or even think of its India launch in the near future.
