Mercedes-Benz added a special edition version to its S-Class which redefined the luxury limousine segment. This special edition is named Connoisseur’s Edition and available in two trims - the S 350 d and S400. The S 350 d variant costs INR 1.21 Crore, while the S400 has priced at INR 1.32 Crore (both prices are ex-showroom Pune). The Connoisseur’s edition has especially been crafted to enhance the level of luxury and comfort for the rear seat occupants.
The list of added features comprises a number of safety and comfort details. With the launch of S-Class Connoisseur’s Edition, Mercedes-Benz defines the luxury comfort and convenience for the rear seat occupants in a chauffeur-driven. The new S-Class features extended thigh support which is electronically operable and can be reclaimed up to 43.5 degree. Along with it, the chauffeur package also includes an electrically extending footrest.
Other high-class details of the S-Class include AIR-BALANCE package with ionization which improves air filtration and fragrance, and Night View Assist Plus that enhance the night visibility.
In terms of mechanical specs, the S 350 d draws power from a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder diesel motor that is capable of generating the maximum power of 262 PS along with the massive torque of 620 Nm. On the other hand, the S 400 comes fitted with a 3.0-litre combustion chamber that churns out 338 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 480Nm.
Both the motors are paired with a 7G-TRONIC PLUS transmission. While the diesel-powered version hits 0 to 100 kmph in 6.8 seconds, the petrol one completes the same in 6.1 seconds. Top-speed, similar to most Mercedes-Benz products, is electronically limited to 250 kmph.
