Mercedes-Benz To Introduce Euro6/BS6 Compliant Cars in India by April 2018

Mercedes-Benz has recently announced the introduction of its Euro6/BS6 compliant cars in India as early as possible by April 2018. The central government is also in favor to invite these cars fulfilling the upgraded emission norms and the fuel is also readily available to comply these vehicles.

As per the brand, the surfaced rumors and controversies regarding the diesel cars have been keeping buyers in doubt about the ban of diesel engines in the country in near future. The carmaker further added, the future of diesel vehicles in India depends on the implementation of Euro 6/BS6 compliant diesel fuel. This would end up all the suspects of the buyer and will be fully acceptable, due to the simillar petrol and diesels vehicle emission levels.

Incepted from December 2015, the diesel ban has affected various international and national manufacturers as well as this German automaker. Under the called ban, the registration of new diesel vehicles over 2000cc engine capacity has been completely stopped. However, the government revisited the order recently, but no action has been taken over it. The demands to modify the order in automaker’s favor has been growing within last few months. Hence, the government did not react to it.

Recently in February 2016, New Delhi has announced that India would skip BS5 norms and move to BS6 norm which will be effected from April 2020.
